Our Story
Wendy-Louise Jones is the founder of Wendy & Willow. After more than twenty years of raising and home educating her three children, including her youngest daughter, Willow, she now writes and crafts to encourage families seeking a slower, warmer approach to learning and living, blending practical guidance and thoughtful appreciation for roots-before-wings education.
There is a quiet wisdom in the early years.
It does not rush
It does not compete
It does not measure childhood against a clock.
Wendy & Willow began, as many good things do, at the kitchen table - In flour-dusted mornings, in stories told by lamplight, in conversations around campfires and in the steady rhythm of home educating and seasonal living. What grew slowly within the walls of our home has now become a body of work devoted to supporting families in protecting the sacredness of childhood and embracing the beauty of handmade life.
At the heart of Wendy & Willow is a simple belief: “Roots Hold Everything”
Through our Waldorf-inspired books and resources for the early years, we offer guidance for families who long to cultivate rhythm, warmth and wonder in the childhood years. These books are not rigid curricula or performance-driven manuals; they are companions - steady, devotional and deeply practical - designed to help parents create homes where learning unfolds naturally through living.
Here you will find -
Rhythm instead of rush
Story instead of screens
Real work alongside play
Seasonal living woven through the year
Support and encouragement for the mother’s own inner life
But Wendy & Willow is not only about books - it’s also about hands..
Hands blending herbs
Hands knitting wool and stitching linen
Hands forming clay
Hands creating art, crafting and making beauty for the home
Alongside the book series, we create and sell handmade pieces crafted slowly, lovingly and intentionally - Pottery and ceramic art shaped by Earth and fire, healing balms made from carefully chosen botanicals, art prints inspired by nature and the turning seasons, hand-knit and sewn items designed to bring warmth and texture in the home and everyday living.
Each piece is created with the same philosophy which shapes our writing.
Natural materials
Seasonal rhythms
Beauty in the ordinary
Slow, meaningful work with our hands
We believe that what fills a home matters.
The mug held in quiet morning reflection. The bowl used for shared bread. The balm rubbed into tired hands, and the art that rests quietly on the wall. These are not small things. They shape the atmosphere. They shape and create memory.
Wendy & Willow is rooted on the Isle of Man, where the sea air, shifting light and the steady turning of the seasons continue to inspire both our writing and our craft. Here, the land itself reminds us that growth takes time - That strong trees withstand storms because of unseen roots.
Whether you arrive here seeking guidance for home education, seasonal inspiration or handmade goods shaped with love and care, our hope is the same.
That you would feel invited to slow down
To simplify
To cultivate warmth and connection
To trust the gentle unfolding of childhood, of life and of growth
This is not about perfection
It is about presence
This is education at the hearth
This is craft with intention
This is childhood protected
